Laura Stephens is a compassionate psychotherapist and Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with more than 20 years of experience supporting children, teens and adults. She earned her Masters of Science in Clinical Behavioral Psychology from Eastern Michigan University, her Master in Science in Mental Health Counseling with a focus in Rehabilitation Counseling from Thomas University.
Laura is a Limited Licensed Psychologist in the state of Michigan. Laura has a special passion for working with neurodiverse individuals and their families. She provides support for those navigating autism spectrum disorder, giftedness, attention deficit hyper activity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, difficulties with sensory processing, executive function disorder, traumatic brain injury (TBI), learning disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)and dementia. Laura enjoys assisting newly diagnosed neurodiverse adults better understand their strengths, challenges, and how their diagnosis may impact their academic, work, and social experiences.
Her approach to therapy is collaborative and integrative-rooted in warmth, respect and evidence-based practice. She draws from cognitive and behavioral psychology (CBT), positive psychology (PP), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and applied behavior analysis (ABA) to help each client build insight, resilience, and a meaningful change.
